Collective Bargaining

The Impact of Collective Bargaining for the Public Sector

Changing benefit plans within a union setting can be challenging. We work closely with your collective bargaining team to prepare “plan modeling” reports to highlight benefit plan differences and to project potential cost containment outcomes. We are asked to participate in meetings with union leadership to explain how the benefits work and to describe the differences in the plan options under discussion. We regularly prepare materials for collective bargaining, exhibits for arbitration and are often called upon to act as an expert witness in 312 proceedings. Once agreements are reached, we will assemble education materials and conduct employee meetings to communicate the new benefit plan information.
